Context
Delinara Nani is a German restaurant serving cağ kebap, the Erzurum speciality cooked on a horizontal spit. It trades on the authenticity of a preparation method rather than on a broad menu, and it does not take reservations.
Challenge
Restaurant websites are read almost entirely on a phone, usually by someone who is already nearby and deciding within a minute. Three questions decide it: what is the food, where is it, and are they open. Anything that delays those answers is friction, and a desktop layout compressed onto a phone delays all three.
A second constraint shaped the build: the site had to work as a QR destination at the table, where the visitor is not choosing a restaurant but reading a menu.
Strategy
The menu, the location and the opening hours were placed within one interaction of arrival. The QR route opens on the dishes rather than the homepage, because a guest who has already sat down does not need the origin story first.
The origin story is still there, because it is the actual differentiator — a two-hundred-year-old tradition and a specific regional preparation are why this restaurant is not interchangeable with the next one. It simply sits after the practical answers rather than in front of them.
Design and system
Food photography carries the page at full width with the dishes' own colour intact. Named dishes with prices are set as a real menu rather than as marketing copy, since that is what the visitor came to read. A call button is held in reach throughout, and the absence of a booking system is stated as a positive: no reservation needed, just come in.
Build
The site is delivered in German for the local market and composed mobile-first, with the desktop layout derived from the phone composition rather than the other way round.
Outcome
Put the menu, the location and the opening hours within one interaction of arrival, and delivered a QR route that opens on the dishes rather than a homepage.
